On 28 April 2026, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Modernization of the Administration of Mauritania is launching its National E-commerce Strategy 2026-2030. The Strategy was elaborated on the basis of the findings and recommendations of the eTrade Readiness Assessment conducted in 2023. Both documents were developed with the support of GIZ and the E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), and in close collaboration with the UN Resident Coordinator Office, resident development partner and eTrade for all partners.

The launch will be followed by a development partners’ roundtable on 30 April to explore opportunities for synergies and collaboration in support of the strategy’s implementation.

As part of UNCTAD’s Implementation Support Mechanism, a training session on the eTrade Reform Tracker (eTRT) will also be organized on the sidelines of the launch for members of the National E-commerce Committee. The eTRT aims to support the coordination and monitoring of the Strategy’s implementation.
